The female injects her eggs into a pouch on the male. The male then fertilizes the eggs by releasing his sperm, and the embryos implant onto the walls of the pouch. That is, the male becomes pregnant. The pregnancy lasts two to three weeks, after which the babies are released to begin their own life cycle. Also, most seahorses are monogamous.

I've seen a documentary where the male is giving birth - it has severe contractions and the young seahorses are expelled into the water - dozens at a time. There is this contant expulsion of the young fry for 2-5mins, until the exhausted seahorse sank to the seabed. I don't know how that relates to previous answers.

The eggs laid by the female is carried by the male and the sperm is sprayed over the eggs. After fertilization the eggs are carried by the male itself and the eggs are hatched with favorable conditons turn up. Female has a minimal work in this.
