I am an non-military American woman that wants to marry a German man in Denmark. I have never been married before.
Can someone please tell me how to get documentation showing present marital status other than tax return papers? Has anyone out there, who is not in the military, had this experience before?

Isn't it on your passport? I thought it was. Anyway what you should do is call the townhall in the town in Denmark you intend to marry in and ask what form of proof they require, and what you need to do to get a marriage license. That sort of thing varies from country to country.

Well, I would think you would have to contact the Courthouse. Searching for a marriage license. It is all public knowledge.
