There are other viruses like this, like cold and flu viruses. There's a reason you have to get a different flu shot every year. HIV is even worse than that.

Don't believe the crap about "the man" not wanting a vaccine. If someone actually came up with an effective vaccine (and there are a few very novel and very promising approaches out there) they would be very wealthy and very famous. Even scientists like that idea.

HIV was not created in a lab, the first confirmed cases were described in 1959, not long after we finally figured out what DNA was. Long before we had the technology to understand let alone manipulate a retrovirus.

HIV is just an incredibly effective virus. More money is put into HIV research than nearly all other viral research combined.
