I trained dogs for four years and I do not believe dogs are color blind. they may not see color as we do, but they DO see color. An example of this is because we used bright yellow tape on the end of our training tools as touch sticks. we also used yellow tape on doors and handles to teach them to touch and push. At times, we used different colors for different commands, and they did know the difference. Although their eyes may prevent them from seeing the intensity that we see or whatever, they do see color. I do not know about any other animals.

Dogs are not colour blind. They can see limited colours that look very different from human perspective, but they can see it. They generally cannot see reds or the analogous colours near red (ie. oranges, intense yellows) and also cannot see greens.
This page here: http://www.uwsp.edu/psych/dog/LA/DrP4.htm shows what a dog sees in comparison to humans.
Not all animals are "colour blind" (definition when in quotations being seeing colours very limited or none at all). Birds, specifically, see a wide range of colours and use this to choose a mate. Many male birds are bright and colourful to attract a female mate, and primates see a variety of colours.
Bulls, on the other hand, do not see colour. They cannot see what they're charging at in colour, so you could be waving an orange and purple polkadot hanky and it would charge because of the 'taunting' motion.

Dogs are color blind because of the lack of pigments going into there eyes however they have enough to see but not enough to start seeing in color.

It is true. Not all animals are color blind, for instance, apes can see color.Just because bulls charge the color red doesn't mean they see color because they are made to charge the color red by being stabbed with spears.

Dogs are said to be colour-blind, yes.
Bulls do not charge red- they charge something which irritates them. Movement. And of course- bulls in a bull fighting ring are already irritated. :-(

I have also always been told that dogs are colour blind. There must be some truth to it if people are saying that, but I am not 100% certain.

I have heard mixed things. My kitty's favorite ball is the pink one, so I don't know if cats are color blind. I guess that doesn't help you with dogs though. Sorry
