I was once struck hard enough and in such a bad position that the result was unconsciousness for about 5-10 minutes, convulsions during it, complete loss of memory for over a half hour afterwards (and a bit before), severe confusion for only the Gods knows how long, etc. I wound up in the ER and I had post concussion syndrome for a year. My memory seems have suffered permenant damage.
So, yes, a blow to the head can do brain damage and yes, it can kill. However, the guy who struck me was out to kill me (literally) and did it when my head was turned (it was a suckerpunch).
It does not sound like what occurred to you is going to do anything other than leave a bruise and probably you saw stars for a time.
Normal blows on the head do not do anything lasting or permanent. I have taken a few to the head in the martial arts that rang my bells and even knocked me on my behind but I got over with a shake of the head and kept on practicing.
If the blow was severe enough to do brain damage, you would not be writing this a day after being punched.
If you are truly worried or are experiencing neck pain, headaches, blackouts, or the like, ask your parents to take you to a doctor.
So... no torturing to death please. :)

Aside from the major injury to your pride, and the bruise, there probably wasn't much damage to your brain. Nature provided you with a pretty good protective covering, and the brain actually takes a bit of a bounce inside just fine. Since you are still able to type and articulate your anger, I think it's safe to assume you are just fine. Brain injury is usually due to repetitive strikes to the head, not a single blow with a bare hand or fist. If you want to try to take revenge, you can of course. But I would remind you that he is capable of some karate, and you did lose the first round from the sounds of it. Perhaps you should consider a way that is less physical as a means of soothing your injured self esteem. Then again, you might want to just leave it as it is and let him wonder when the shoe will drop. Or just be a little more mature about the whole situation and let it go. Bruises heal, brothers are forever.

The brain is kind of like jello in a bowl. A hard, sudden knock can make the jello slosh around a little in the bowl (your head). With that in mind, you could "possibly" have a slight concussion, but if it happened over a day ago and all you have come away with is a bruise (no loss of consciousness, memory lapses, headaches, etc.), I doubt that is the case.
Now there is also a possibility of a whiplash from your head snapping back. If your neck seems unusually sore or tight...you could consider that. You could feel some tightness in your back from being knocked backwards. Those symptoms can take a few days before manifesting themselves.
I hope you are fine so you don't have to torture him.

id,
A well-placed punch can KILL.
In your case, I don't think it did much harm. If you would have lost consciousness, even for a moment, I would be more alarmed.
I think torture should not be ruled out...

it could, sometimes you can get a concussion just from a much lighter hit. also some concussions cause internal bleeding. i wouldn't torture him to death but you should watch for signs of a mild concussion. here is the link to webmd's info on them.
