I'm on my second A4 now and my father has had a few different audis over the years too. I also have a few fiends with Audis now and none of us have had any problems with any of them.
The cars are top notch as far as fit & finish are concerned, they are consistently rated amongst the safest cars on the road, their performance is pretty amazing - pretty damn close to BMW in the dry but way beyond in anything else thanks to the quattro system.
One of the only cars to come with a maintenance free warranty for 4 years - that means you don't do anything with the car for 4 years - the dealer does all maintenenace - oil changes, changing filters, spark plugs, topping up all fluids etc - they will (or at least use to) even change your wipers for you - I was driving in a bad rain storm and one of my wiper blades wasn't working well - I pulled into a dealer near by and they changed them out for me right there - no charge, no hassel - I was back on my merry way - they'll top up your wiper fluid too for nothing if you want to go to the trouble of going to the dealership to have them do it. - where else will you get that? nowhere!
I can't say enough good things about them. Also with the turbo - you can flash the engine chip for extra horsepower for about $500 (aftermarket stuff -GIAC).

Yes!!!! they r good cars like any thing else u take care of it and it will take care of u. I have owned many Audis threw out the years my parents were Audi drivers. I currently own an A6 avant an A8 and I have a fun old one 4000tqw. My brother had the A4 2.8 It was a nice car, but he bought it out of a lease and Audi sells those car as mantaince free meaning no service except oil. So if you buy one try and find one that has been owned. good luck u will find a good one, u might look at an A6

2002 A8L - a terrific car. The 2002 LS430 was solid, but the Audi just begged to go faster. My 2001 S500 is splendid, but it has electronic gremlins. All of them are fine cars, but the Audi was the one that got washed/polished 3x a week. The A6 has fine fit and finish too. Rented a 2006 A4 while on vacation and thoroughly enjoyed it. Audi is probably my car of choice.

I have an Audi A6 Quattro and I love it. They handle really nice, and are very comfortable to ride in.
If you get the oil changed when you are suppose to and read the owners manual and not abuse it. It will last a long time. Make sure if you are buying a used one that the previous owners got the car serviced regularly, because if you don't you may have an Audi with a lot of expensive repair bills. That's the only downfall I know of. Audi's are very expensive to fix!!!
So if you get one, treat it good and it will treat you the same. I love my Audi A6 it's a 96 and it hasn't failed me yet. Has over 100,000 miles. It's sooo comfortable you will want to sleep in it!! LOL
Seriously, when I first got it, I didn't want to get out of it and fell sleep in my driveway in the car!!

"Good" is a realtive term. You can fall in love with the design or handling, and buy a car even knowing that it's not the most reliable.
I think Audi is a nice car. I ended up buyng a VW Jetta (made by the same company and sharing some parts with Audi), because it had more headroom and was less expensive. I did drive Audis as well. I love the handling.
Just don't expect it to be as reliable as Japanese models.

This is so subjective. It comes down to taste, lifestyle and preference. I have a 2001 A6 4.2. For me, my car rocks. It is great fun to have some knuckle headed 20 year old in a Mustang GT come up beside me and try to blow by me. Just a little pressure on the throttle and my V8 just hums, he is nothing but reflection. The safety features of QUATTRO and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) mean in these terrible winter months my car is better than these gargantuan SUV's at getting through slick conditions or snow banks. Having all weather super high performance tires is also required, but that is the price one pays. I realize some have had electrical issues, but I have been trouble free for years. Styling and engineering suit my tastes. I like the fact that Mercedes and BMW outnumber Audi on the road by about 4 to 1. Who wants to drive a luxury cars that many people have? These are my 2 cents

I have an A4 for six years now and I love it still. The Quattro all wheel drive system is great if you live in place that gets a lot of snow or rain. Plus in my opinion their interiors are second to none. I highly recommend an Audi.

My father has a '06 Audi A4 quattro, 2.0T automatic, which I drive frequently. It is one of the most fun to drive cars i've ever driven, and it can basically go through anything with the all-wheel drive. I highly recommend it. I'd also drive a similar BMW, just to contrast and compare. Have fun!

Late 90s/early 2000s Audis and VWs are known to be electrical nightmares. If it's one of those years, you'd better be ready for that.
