Intel Pentium M Processor 740 1.73Ghz
I'm planning on upgrading to Vista but there's a 32 bit and 64 bit version, so I'm a bit confused which version I should be installing.
Thanks

It's 32-bit. However, if you buy the retail version of Vista, both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions are included on the same disc. If you have a 64-bit capable processor (you don't) but if you did it would ask you which version to install, either the 32-bit or 64-bit. For now, I would go with the 32-bit, even for those of you that have 64-bit processor. Driver support for the 64-bit environment isn't quite there yet, it will be in a few years but not yet.

If you buy the OEM version then you have to pick between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Vista.

Go to Ms and read the instructions for the recommended download.
Your processor is probablyb only capable of 32 bit. But it can be checked in Control panel System information

It's 32 bit.

Don't upgrade to Vista.

Besides being a resource hog - and giving you absolutely nothing that you really need, and will require at least 6-12 months before they work all of the bugs out - microsoft is infamous for beta testing its software on its customers.

That belarc thing will give you every spec that is on the comp. The manufacturers site can also be of help. computerhope.com can give you the BIOS, Motherboard and some CPU data that may be hard to find.
But micr0s0ft is taking down, ermm buying all the sites that give out free information for learning about hardware/software and how they interact efficiently.
Toms Hardware Guide is also great!
FOLDOC is very good also.
AXCELLS site is great for software windows stuff.
