I was playing a game yesterday and i did an improper shutdown while the game was saving. When i booted by computer again, i noticed every icon on my desktop and my entire c drive had that icon with a piece of paper with a box and 3 dots in it. When i double click it, it says select a program to open with.
I tried rebooting, what else should i do? I have no virus.

I cant defragment or anything because i cant even open any files not even the defragmenter file.

It sounds like your O/S might have become corrupted - if you have the installation software you might be able to fix it.
Otherwise you might need to backup all of your files, format, and reinstall (some computers have the install software on a partition on the hard drive).

It appears that you have little disk space left. Clean the disk by deleting files you no longer use. Delete any temporary files and cookies no longer being used. And defragment your computer. Depending on the kind you have, choose the option to defragment it. This means the computer will "tidy up" your files making it easier to use. You may also want to scan the pc for viruses.
