this happend to me alot. that was after I was grounded, banned from watching TV and had all the books taken out of my room.
it could last up to six weeks where no one in my family would talk to me. I think its worse than being beaten, because it mental torture.

I expereinced it as a child. I never forgot it and would never torture my children in that way. It destroys trust. A Physical beating is preferable to being sent to coventry and parents who think its a good technique should be put in solitary confinement for 6 months!

Nah, we were threatened with the dreaded slipper. My mum or gran just had to give us the look, take the slipper off and hold it in a threatening way. Always worked. We never f*cked about with that. We never got beaten with it though, thank god!
My ex lives in Coventry, I can see the torture you went through. Poor sod.

no but i had a teacher who used to send you to siberia(sort of the same as coventry), it was a lonely table at the back of the classroom where no one was allowed to talk to you or look at you

No, my mum and dad made me pack all my things up when i was about 5 and told me i was going to a children's home! i can't remember what it was for or how i got out of it though.

yeh same here....it was horrendous, that's one reason why i detest them.....it's not mental torture...it's mental cruelty, and people like that do not deserve kids
