At present, there are 13 states of matter :-
1. Solid
2. Liquid
3. Gas
4. Plasma
5. Supercritical fluid
6. Superfluid
7. Colloid
8. Supersolid
9. Degenerate matter
!0. Quark-gluon plasma
11. Fermionic condensate
12. Bose-Einstein condensate
13. Strange matter
Out of these, only the first five are of significance in our daily lives; the others occur only in very special conditions.

Basically there are 4 states of matter. SOLID, LIQUID, GAS and PLASMA.
Again it gets sub divided into Plasma
Super fluid, Colloid, Supersolid, Ferm ionic condensate and
Bose-Einstein condensate.

solid, liquid, gas, supercritical liquid, plasma.
Liquid helium (He-4) exists in two forms: He-4I and He-4II, with a sharp transition point at 2.174K. He-4I (above this temperature) is a normal liquid, but He-4II (below it) is unlike any other known substance. It expands on cooling, its conductivity for heat is enormous, and neither its heat conduction nor viscosity obeys normal rules
So He-4II could be another state of matter.
So 6 in total.

There are 3 physical states of matter ie. solid, liquid and gas.It is present in which state it depends on its freezing and melting point. For example, water becomes ice under 0 degree calcius and liquid at room temp. and vapours above 100 degree calcius.
