Personally I wouldn't risk it. All broadband in the UK is ultimately provided by BT, as they own the copper wiring that runs to your rooftop. Anyone can set themselves up as an ISP, pay BT Wholesale for ADSL, and sell it to others as if it were their service. Don't be fooled into any supplier based upon price. Tiscali do this, and their service is appalling, as with TalkTalk.
Quality of service and customer support is the main criteria, and the best of the best is Plusnet. Sky are a satellite operator trying to get into broadband, and will not be as experienced or capable as a company that does nothing else but broadband.

My biggest complaint is the supplied router.
It gets very warm and the connection drops frequently. Having replaced it with my old modem & router, Sky Broadband is much more stable.
Using your own modem, though, is against Sky's terms & conditions and obtaining your username & password is quite tricky. Try Google to find out how to use your own hardware.

Sky broadband is great, I would definitely advise it. I pay £5 per month for 8mb of broadband. You do need to have Sky TV to benefit, but I only pay £18 per month for that.

i had it, i had that much trouble that they agreed to cancel my 12 month contract, it was always crashing and very slow, this may just be in my area [Birmingham] but it was hopeless for me.
