As per Hindu Mythology, Lord Vishu is all prevailing. He is First and Last of the entire Universe of which you cannot measure, gauge or hold a tape to measure end-to-end. There is one Sanskrit word aptly defining this quality of Lord Vishnu and it is ANANTHA literally transalating to NA - ANTHAS ( No End, also means all prevailing)
Instead of looking for a literal transalation of the name to First and Last, the word Anant would convey your feelings and the qualities that your child should develop based on his Name..
