I think his self righteous arrogance has more to do with it.

I think Tom is a dolt for buying, and I do mean BUYING, into scientology. They say they can cure alcoholism, depression, etc... That's crap! But, even if he were not involved with scientology, I would not like Tom Cruise. He's always been an arrogant, publicity-loving control freak who is a mediocre actor at best. Kaite Holmes was never one of my favorites either. She's like a sheep following Tom all over the place and had no purpose in Batman Returns, other than to be annoying. I guess he finally found a wife he can completely dominate.

Tom Cruise is a clown - I can't for a second figure out why people ever thought he was hot!!! It's got nothing to do with Scientology, although I personally think it's cultish. Yeah, I don't know what's up with Katie - she could do sooooo much better! For starters, a man that isn't old enough to be her dad, has a couple of inches height on her, and "lets" her do what she wants. Yes, I do avoid his movies now because I can't concentrate on the plot because he just pisses me off so much.

Religion is not a turn off to me, we live in America, that's part of the beauty of our great democracy. The fact that he is NUTS turns me off! And the last movies I have seen of his just sucked. He has lost his acting ability. it's just Tom Cruise in a role, he's not becoming the character. Although the people he has working with him are good, his performances are horrible! I just feel bad for Katie, and I look forward to the book their kid is gonna write as an adult.

I think his beliefs are his and that his right. I dont agree with the but that is his right. Now I do believe when he made a big Spectacle of himself by attacking the Southpark episode "trapped in the closet" that he really did push the line and
hurt his career. If he hadnt acted like a fool and made that controversy, MI3 (which was a very good movie by the way) would ahve been a true blockbuster. I believe all his press before the movie hurt him though.
I'll still see his movies if there good, and if I dont Ill at least but them on dvd if I heard there good

I can't wait to see Tom Cruise as DOUBLEWIDEMAMA. It'll be a trend among the Scientology dudes to play women, first Travolta in Hairspray, then Cruise in Trailer Park Woman.

I liked his movies in the 80´s. Aside from Jerry MacGuire I have no idea what he did in the 90's. Now, I really haven´t seen ANY of his films. They really seemed to suck and from I have read so far, they have. Tom has not grown older and wiser with age but weird and annoying. I don´t think his belief in his "religion" is wholly responsable. He has trully nurtured a Hollywood-size ego all these years. He used to be normal and nice. I remember his interviews in the 80´s, when he called reporters "sir" and was respectful and polite. Now, all he blabs about is Scientology and his insistence on the subject is truly annoying. Now he has the weak-minded wife to complete the package. Good luck with your career suicide Tom and please shut up already!

I never really gave it a thought till he told Matt Lauer that he, Matt, knew nothing about the psychiatry/psychology and that he, Tom Cruise, was an expert because of all the books he'd read about it. Let's not forget the crud he felt free to heap on Brooke Shields and her postpartum depression.

I can read a medical book(s), but that doesn't make me a doctor. If I read slanted "medical" books, that really doesn't make me a doctor.

Tom's trolley has jumped the track and he is in serious need of the very profession of which he is so contemptuous.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Tom Cruise is a f***nut. They man is crazy. I still enjoy SOME of his movies. Of course, I can't just NOT think about his "beliefs."

Personally, I think we need to put together a "save Katie" militia. We need to go in there and rescue her and bring her back to the sweet, girl next door thing that she was. She needs our help. Anyone with me?

Come on. We all know religion has nothing to do with it. The man can hardly act. I'm young so I don't know about the older movies he's done but now he's worth close to nothing by Hollywood standards. Why do you think he's gone independant? Plus, half the people who know him don't even know he practices Scientology. And yes, Katie Holmes does seem...different. To put it lightly.
