Here is the good and bad news.
First no good news. Second, the bad news. You are liable, depending on the state, for damages to your car and the other person's property that you damaged if you have no insurance.
Now in Texas, if you have insurance and you live with your dad, and you do not have dad on your insurance and he gets in a wreck, you are liable. Reason is, he lives in the same household as you. You are required to put him on or others who live in SAME household, to be covered on car insurance. So if you have insurance and live in a DIFFERENT household, then he would have been covered or anyone that does not live with you.
I would think that your insurance might go up cuz the car is registered to you. But I am not sure though. But I do know for sure that you can be liable and that is bad.
My basic liability with State Farm started at $59 a month. A year later it is $33 a month. Yes, I used to drive without insurance, but when I got in an accident I changed from the dark side. This semi had pulled over in front of me cuz he had no blinker. He knew it was his fault. First thing he said was that he had insurance. I told him I had (A big LIE), but that the damage was small. He gave me a $100 and said if it was more to let him know. I found out from a cop I asked, that if I had reported it, his insurance might have paid, but then I would have got a ticket for no insurance that might have cost more than repairing the car in the long term.
The morale of the story, you made a mistake. Don't do it twice. And you need to have a LONG talk with your dad. Stand up to him and tell him NO MORE BS from him. And if he does not change then you will disown him. Tell him, that when he gets old and wants to see his grand kids, that you will tell them that they have no grand dad. Give him a taste of his own medicine.

RE Who will be responsible for my dad's car wreck/Will my insurance premium go up?
I let my mom borrow my car to get to work for about 6 months. I knew she had it, I never insured it and neither did she. My dad is abusive and tries to contol everyone and their possessions (my car, my apartment, my bf's car). He hit a local business and caused 15k of damage. He has never worked and my mom just recently started a job-I have had to work for everything in my life and I'm frustrated with always being taken advantage of.
My dad was taken away from the scene in an ambulance, the owner's of the property he hit never received his name or contact info. Since the car is registered to me, am I liable? Although it was his accident, will my future car insurance premium go up because of this?

your insurance premium may not go up because the car wasn't insured but you are liable particly because its your car. Your father should pay for the damage or replace your car because its his fault. Yeah depending on the state you stay in insurance is required and the other person made a good point, you might have to sue your father.

You are both liable. You because the car is in your name and also because you have no insurance(a big no not). Your dad is also responsible because he was the one driving.

Yup you are screwed..you will have to pay damages and you insurance will go up, and you most likely get a ticket for no insurance..GOOD LUCK! (Most likey you will have to sue your dad to get him to pay for any of this!)
