Congratulations,

You are now the proud owner of FormerColony v3.1 (India).

As you will have noted from the previous releases, you can now expect to have an exponential economic growth and overtake the former owners in muscle on the world stage. This will likely be evidenced by buying their major industries (e.g. Steel) within the next 50 years.

While the previous occupation and transition have been painful, you should note that your initial stage of development has been improved by the former owners, who have installed various applets including Schools 2.3, Strong Government apparatus 1.0 and most importantly Popularity of English Language 4.

As you know, India is also still fully integrated with Commonwealth v7, which provides you with significant trade and industry links across the world.

Yes, you will overtake the US, but you can't use the start of independence as the startpoint for development; the time frame is also significantly different, and you have had computing, mobile phones, internet, and other technologies to help, earlier than the US.

I'm afraid that its not very true . The United States too had to face a lot of hardships in the first Century of its independence . However , America still had a lot of countries supporting its economies becomes it was a new land and hence, A pet country .
It is a fact that the economic prowess of USA was established only during the Two world wars .
We may be developing slowly my friend but The fact is That We will one day beat the US at its own game and that too before 200 or for that matter even 100 years from our independence

You cannot take a linear approach to history. America's independence came at the same time as the industrial revolution, plus it had a vibrant immigration flow, a culture that encouraged innovation and exchange of ideas, and abundant natural resources (gold, lumber, African slaves....)

India became independent in 1949(?), but it was economically stagnant for the first fifty years. It would be highly presumptious to assume that India is destined to "overtake" the US by looking only at a limited number of recent factors.
