Yes they can....My town had a zero tolerance with speeding for a month because speeding was getting ridiculous. If you were 1 mile an hour over you would get a ticket!!!

Yes, I believe they can. If they do though it's probably because they want to pull u over for another reason.
If they're just catching speeders I think police have some kind of unwritten rule that 4 miles or less over is okay. I'm sure they just figure that someone else will come along going15 or 20 mph over the limit in a matter of seconds and they can get a bigger fine.

Normally city police are required to give a eleven mile per hour leeway, except for school zones, inside city limits not the buffer zone, hospitals areas etc...never pass a cop on any road.State troopers can give a ticket for exceeding the limit by one mph.Check your local state laws for they can vary state to state.

yes. they are the police. they enforce the law. if the speed limit says 55, and you do 56, they can give you a ticket.
but it is probably not as likely to happen as when you are doing say 80 in a 55 zone.

No they can't. There is usually a 10% allocation. So if it was a 60 zone and you were going 64 it would be fine, as long as you dont get up to 66.....They cant book you for 1 mile/hr over. You guys in the states might be different...But one mile? NO WAY!!! I would challenge it in court...

Hell yea!!! I am a cop and I love to give tickets out to kids and people under 21 just to harass them! I really get off on it!! Also, it makes it easy to confascate their drug stashes for my own use saves me lots of money!

they can do pretty much what ever the hell they want. this doesn't mean that you will be guilty of speeding. it is up to the court to render a verdict. if you feel you were wronged you should definetly challenge the citation. this way the behavior of this cop will be brought to the judges attention. and if the judge doesn't care then i guess your out of luck.

Yes, but it is inconceivable that anyone WOULD, as MOST speedos are a little off. They will almost always give you 4 or 5MPH without a citation.

yes they can but with fluctuations in speedometers it would be hard to enforce the ticket.
