A backache is pretty normal. You are carrying more weight than your body is used to and it is all in an awkward place to carry it. I had backaches too. Having told you to not worry, I need to say one other thing. If the pain seems to pulse or you have spotting, there is a slight chance it is back labor. As long as it is only in the back, you are fine. But if you spot or have a heavy, pressure feeling (other than what pregnancy causes you to feel all the time) in your girl bits, you might want to check with your doctor. I had back labor with one kid and it started with a backache.

I'm 36 weeks pregnant tomorrow with my 2nd daughter. I had no pain at all with my first but this time the baby has been head down for the last month and keeps lying on a nerve, I keep getting jolts of pain and sometimes I can't get myself out of bed, its agony. The best thing that has helped me is having hot baths, as hot as I can bear to sit in but they have been making me have Braxton Hicks contractions, My midwife told me to be careful being so near to my due date. I find it helps to sit on a dining room chair and not the sofa and also having loads (6)pillows behind me in bed helps too. Good luck xx

Yes, don't be concerned. I had bad backache with all 3 of my children. The only place I was comfortable in the end was lying down in bed!!! It is probably because bubs is in a posterior position (I know that apparently was the cause of mine!).
Just take some pregnancy safe pain relief and try to get some rest. I know its painful for you, but unfortunately it is one of the joys of pregnancy!!!

Yes I had it too. Make sure you don't lay down or sit too long. Don't cross your legs because it pinches your sciatic nerve, my dr told me that. Get a towel and wet it and microwave it a minute or two and put that on it. Also put a soup can behind your back and lay on it. That really helped my back. Good luck and congratulations on your soon to be baby.
