Im sorry to be so blunt...not actually im not. These people come from their country to live here and they create nothing but problems. Yes it may be the minority but you do not see us flocking to their country to kill their people. It makes me sick, esp when they are allowed to stay in the country or live in our prisons, on my hard earned wages (tax)! They should be shipped back to their country or origin we should not have to deal with this insane, disgusting scum

These people are the biggest enemies of the Asian community in the UK. The man in the street will not look to differentiate between Indians, Pakistanis or Arabs. They will all be regarded as Moslems, and militant Moslems at that. This will result in racial tension between all white and all brown people, unless the ordinary decent Moslems in the UK work with the authorities to cut out this cancer that is affecting their community. If they don't, we could have race riots and if that happens there will be no winners other than the extremists. It is the responsibility of the leaders of the minority communities to give all assistance and information possible to the security services to protect not only the citizens of the UK, but more particularly their own people, who otherwise could ultimately be the subject of a misguided backlash.

No, it isn't the final straw.
We Brits have a long-standing history of combatting terrorist activity be it IRA, UDF, Muslim extremists, Nail bombers... the list goes on. Britain will survive, the people will thrive be they black, white, brown, yellow, catholic, Protestant, Muslim or David Icke's followers. What matters is that as a society we are committed to freedom of expression and (nowadays even more than in the past) compassion for our fellow men and women around the world.
Things may go wrong from time to time. The government may make decisions for political reasons that aren't in keeping with this idea, the law courts may get it wrong themselves and sometimes our countrymen and women may betray these values but on the whole I'd like to think we are made of sterner stuff and history bears this out.
The incident you refer to is an horrific example of something going wrong but then so was 7/7, bloody Sunday, Eniskillen etc...
Should we do any more than we already are? Of course. But that's not just Britain. That's every country around the world and every person. That's what being an humanitarian is all about - something we should all strive to be.
I'd rather live here in the UK where we can be guaranteed our rights to freedom of religious and cultural expression than, for example, the town in Canada in the news today who released a statement saying that Muslims should remember not to stone women to death. Now that's just plain crazy!

i think it's riddiculous that people would choose to live in a country that they hate so much.
Surely it would be best for everyone if people with such strong views made a home somewhere where they can form a real
community and share their lives with people who share thier views.
My grandfather was was born in Pakistan and was Muslim, he did not dessert his faith but it was something that was private to him, he believed that "when in Rome do as the Romans" It's a shame more people can't take this attitude.
If the place you are living offends and disgusts you so much-MOVE.
The fact that people are willing to kill over something as shaky as religion is scary.
The fact that here in the UK we let people get away with it is just pathetic.
Imagine if a bunch of Christians or Jews set up a small community in a muslim country and then started killing muslims just for not sharing their fatih- the punishment they would recieve would be a far cry from the English slap on the wrist.

Anti-British action should result in the British passport being taken away and the person thrown out.
Another case this week was of an illegal immigrant drug addict, caught committing crimes, sent to prison & twice recommended for deportation, but instead he's 'likely to be released'.
What on earth is stopping us from deporting these people? At the very least these Birmingham Muslims should be seen as anti-British, and their British passports removed and destroyed. They should be sent packing and never allowed back.

Like you I'm lost for words as to what they think they can achieve? If they had done it they would have eventually have been caught and identified. I truely believe this would have been a turning point in the UK. Their houses would have been torched, the mosques they attended torched and all they would have achieved is the a massive push for the extreme right such as the BNP whom would have won loads of seats in the elections. They will simply bring on their own downfall. Twats.

i think this latest episode is now waking up the Brits the writing is on the wall and it might give the anti capital punishment brigade second thoughts and join the 85% who wish for its return. i also think the British Muslim should come off the fence and be seen to do something to help the hard pushed police who showed this morning they can act if they have the government restrictions off their backs and Mr Reid this is your chance to show how tough i think you can be if you have the backup from the British public before this country becomes a battlefield

Nope it isn't the perfect straw nor it is going to change my perspectives. I have continuously believed because the starting up of this bloody conflict that the foul Islamist lunatics should be exterminated and the fouler pits from whence they got here grew to grow to be into irradiated glass. ought to I care If Pope Benedict XVI were given killed via them, convinced. the guy purely quoted something, and in any journey that is in hardship-free words his personal opinion sheezz...why do Muslims get so immature at the same time as someone says something undesirable about their faith (like they think of their sensibilities are better major than everybody else's)... yet ought to that assasination take position i can not grow to be senseless and ask for all Muslims' heads...it truly is purely what those foul terrorist fiends decide on, for all individuals to commence hacking at one yet another's throats. For sanity's sake can not we predict of rationally anymore about this stuff? To j4mes_bond25...you're proper. those Muslims like to scream at us when we insult their faith (nevermind if it grow to be intentional or not), yet they look to adore their very personal grotesque mullahs difficulty lack of life threats antagonistic to people they do'nt like like the Jews and Israel. i'm starting up to imagine those adult adult males extremely are the hypocritical morons that the Islam-bashers (who as a lot as this element I disagreed with) say they're.

I agree with H J. However, it's not all Muslims or all Asians so we can't brand everyone.
Like H J I believe that they should be instantly either hung or deported, why should we continue to keep these people in our already overcrowding prisons.
I'm even more amazed that these were UK born!! Bring back the death penalty. If I was PM things would change.

I agree with H J, fortunately there are enough decent people among the British Muslims to tell the police what is going on.

Yes, it's worrying, and I agree that you don't see us running off to their countries and, whilst expecting their tax payers to cover our living costs, planning to behead people.
However, people like this are still in the minority, and I'm absolutely unwilling to devote much of my mental space to them. They're only terrorists if they succeed in worrying the public. I don't want to have to think about this sort of person when I'm going through airports, getting on the tube, or passing your average, honest muslim on the street. In a way, we shouldn't even allow them headline space. If there's a problem with people trying to cause mass fear, then national security should be dealing with it instead of putting it into the gossip columns and creating a society based on that fear.
