money/advertising /sports /and media press releases
not to forget media concentration into the hands of a few
with adgendas set by moneyed elites and bankers

how can it be restrained seize it back get civil servants to run it as an arm of govt.
despite that we thinkl to know about public servants they yet are sworn to serve the public
media is the highest calling
to truth
sans truth in reporting we get fed lies and crass comercialism.

There is no check on the power of the news media - nor is there any accountability. Look at Iraq for example. The media tells a completely different story than do the eyewitnesses. Here it is a case of 'bad news sells.'
