Along with patience and diligence, i think you should have an open minded approach to the seemingly theoritical principles of science....practicality is critical....besides that, a general interest in the application of science in your surroundings is very important and basically just making it a way of life is crucial for you to enjoy science and eventually "succeed" in it....make sure uyour thirst for scientific knowledge is never quenched....because there is no limit to wat you can know and develop....

Cheers! :D
