I am working on my friends 1985 Chevy caprice classic and I am cannot get vaccum diagrams, and emission control helps or hints other than changing the EGR valve and PCV valves in addition to the other well known fixes for emission control problems. I have replaced all vaccum lines but I fear I may have missed some. I am certain I have done the most common, well known things a person can do. I really need an emission control schematic, that includes specs. and troubleshooting. Thank You very Much if You can Help!!

No. That information costs real money. Nobody is going to just give it away. You could however, try your local library.

This may be obvious but try a google search with the words 1985 chevrolet caprice classic vacuum diagram, in both images and documents. Try yahoo and altavista as well as the different search engines come up with different results. Unfortunately i hit the same problem when searching for my holden (australian chevy) diagrams for the engine management system, though i did find it. You'll find that the diagrams and workshop manuals are copyrighted and thus they dont want to share their information on the web, however some net users do share information so i would check out bulletin boards too.

I own the same car as you do. If you want a manual for that car that is all inclusive you will have to pay for it. I have the Hains Manuel I got it at Auto Zone but I bet you can find it at almost any auto parts store. It cost me $9.00 and if you cant afford 9 bucks you cant afford the gas for that car! the manuel I speak of has detailed photos of all the info. you might need and best of all its written in plain English so you wont have any trouble fixing any problem you will ever have with your car. My Hains manuel paid for itself after the first use! I guess, if you cant afford the 9 bucks you could allways take out a title loan on your car and get it that way.
