Windows doesn't allow you to password a floppy disk but what you can do is winzip (or other comression utility) the files you want to put on there and add a password that way.

or get some third party software.

There are various utilities such as Steganos \ PGP which allow you to secure a drive.

If you have administrative privilidges you may be able to lock access to your floppy drive on your own pc.

Really, a more practicle solution is to zip up the files on the floppy and protect with a password.

For real security I'd go for PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), version 9 and above, as far as i know it has not been cracked (earlier versions have). Its a lot more secure than winzip etc

From memory the website is http://www.pgp.com but you can find via google

I always just stick the files into a passworded self-extracting executable using winzip (since a floppy is so small anyway).

This only removable disk I know of you can place a password on is a ZIP disk made by IOMega. Anything else you will need an application to protect the files.

You don't password protect the disk. You need to password protect the files on the disk, the method for this depends on the program that creates the files.
