It truly amazes me how much people freak out now at non politically correct comments. Its like they have lost all ability to be non conformists. How did our society become so brainwashed? Is the censorship on this forum further conditioning to this trend? People are turning into robots right before our very eyes. It scares the crap out of me.

I have observed the very condition you refer to herein, and agree that this is, in a way, frightening. What society (or at least the government) wants is sheep, who do not think for them selves, do not speak of anything outside of their programing. Political correctness has, of course, nothing to do with facts, truth or clear observational conclusion. Yes...it is wrong to deliberately hurt another's feeling and be rude and crude, but don't take away the right to be blunt.

Being PC when you are speaking in public, or on TV, etc. is something that is necessary. People should do it simply because they are concious of other people's "feelings" (I know that sounds corny!). However, when you get out of the public eye and into more personal/smaller settings, PC shouldn't play such a big part. I'm not really concerned with whether people are "political correct" because there are few, if any, politically correct comments that would affect me. However, others might be more affected, and we should attempt, at least in the examples given above, to respect and promote PC.

We have become fearful of reprisals if we are deemed politically incorrect. We have also become a nanny government, look at the spanking ban here in California. We want rights, our rights, but do not want the consequences that will bring, so we choose to go out of our way completely to avoid the truth. We have become brainwashed, because we listen to the media, we watch TV, and we listen to politically correct politicians. What I think we have not learned is the difference between TACT and PC.

Yes it is.
The worst part of the pc movement is the HR dept.
Basically they have a job to make sure people are not uncomfortable to be at work. In actuality though they make 90% of employees uncomfortable in an effort to placate 10% of the people who will really find something to be upset about no matter what is done. I hate pc bs and I hate hr even more.

Political correctness doesn't frighten me at all nor do I know of anyone that it does. It's like calling a homosexual gay. There is nothing gay about being a homosexual! I don't hate them, they will have to deal with God for their actions. Political correctness has nothing to do with it. It's the Popeye thing, "I am what I am and that's all that I am."

This "politically correct" issue is really threatening the freedom of our world.... people are scared to call things with their names and prefer not to think... not to mention their eyes when somebody utilizes some "forbidden word".... "Against stupidity, the Gods themselves cannot do anything" (Schiller)

Yes it is frightening. I think it stems from the idea that every should be equal and treated as such. Truth is this, we are all unique u cant make everyone equal, u can only give people equal rights.
Instead of tryin to make everyone look and think identical why not celebrate our diversity. Politicians are trying to fix stuff dat wasnt broken. And people are becomin scared to voice their opinon without being labelled "gay" "homophobic" or "fanatic"...
Its more like freedom of speech to say wat THEY think is right.

What has happened is liberals have learned to peg self image to feelings. If your feelings are hurt, then your self image is also hurt. This results from the excessive emotionalism from liberals.

They are so pathetic that they try to enforce a feelings not hurt agenda, which hurts my feelings and pisses me off. We have allowed our society to be feminized and we are paying dearly for it.
