yeah...
definitely..
Vasoconstriction is the narrowing (constriction) of blood vessels. When blood vessels constrict, the flow of blood is restricted or slowed.

Vasoconstriction may be slight or severe. It may result from disease, medication, or psychological conditions. Medications that cause vasoconstriction include:

Antihistamines and decongestants
Cough and cold combinations
Pseudoephedrine
Caffeine
Medications may be used to treat vasoconstriction.

that's all..i know

Scary answer from a doctor - man!

Vasoconstriction also occurs in superficial blood vessels of warm-blooded animals when their ambient environment is cold; this process diverts the flow of heated blood to the center of the animal, preventing the loss of heat.

A vasoconstrictor, also vasopressor or simply pressor, is any substance that acts to cause vasoconstriction (narrowing of the lumena of blood vessels) and usually results in an increase of the blood pressure. The opposite process, vasodilation, is the opening of blood vessels. Vasoconstrictors are used in medicine to treat hypotension.

Many vasoconstrictors act on specific receptors, such as vasopressin receptors or adrenoreceptors. Vasoconstrictors are also used clinically to increase blood pressure or to reduce local blood flow. Exposure to moderately high levels of stress also induces vasoconstriction.

vasoconstriction refers to the tightening of blood vessels. It narrows down the lumen of blood vessels and cosequently increases the blood pressure as heart has to exert more pressure to make flow of blood. It may occur due to various reasons like drugs etc. However, in the old age, the arteries lose their elasticity gradually------due to aging factor, resulting in the tightening of the areteries called as areteriosclerosis. This is why the elderly people have very often high blood pressure(hypertension).

Hmmm... Off the top of my head... Schizophrenia. I think schizophrenia is when people start hearing voices and seeing things that do not exist. People with schizophrenia have paranoia, and may think that someone or something is trying to harm them. It's a chemical imbalance in the brain that can be corrected by taking some drugs (don't know which), but the person may not go back completely to the life they had before. I think it occurs later on in life, like in a person's twenties to late twenties. Also there's no real genetic link to passing on schizophrenia, but the chances of a person getting it increases if they had a sibling or parent who had schizophrenia.

Constriction of the blood vessels. Normally natural substances in the body called kinins stop this happening. Drugs such as amyl nitrate can cause the condition to reverse - ie. dilate the vessels.

Blood viscosity - by RBC’s and albumin
– ¯ viscosity with anemia, hypoproteinemia
– viscosity with polycythemia , dehydration
• Vessel length
– pressure and flow decline with distance
• Vessel radius - very powerful influence over flow
– most adjustable variable, controls resistance quickly
– vasomotion: change in vessel radius
• vasoconstriction, vasodilation

When your capillaries tighten and the lumen becomes smaller, reducing the amount of blood flowing through your capillaries. This happens when the body temp is below the norm- 37 degrees celcius, as it reduces the amount of heat energy lost.

The oppositie of this is vaso-dilution, where blood vessels widen to allow more heat energy to be lost.

The constriction (tightening) of the veins ( the vessels that return blood to your heart). usually the peripheral veins, to increase blood pressure.
