No, the UAW is no problem. The problem is poor management and competition from better vehicles. It's easy to blame the unions but unions are relatively weak in this country. There is no vast union conspiracy.

While Ford's problems have more than one single source, the powerful UAW is a major contributor to it's difficulties. Ford's contract with the Union places it at a disadvantage in attempting to compete on a global basis. This is true of each of the big three American automotive manufacturer's and explains their lagging competitive position and increasing financial difficulties.

No, mismanagement is Ford's main issue.

The auto industry as a whole in the US is crippled by the union, but other companies are doing better than Ford because they are run better.

Mismanagement, union, and lack of national health care. Failed to anticipate that we would not always want gas guzzling cars. Failed to diversify their product offering. Unable to use "buy American" because of so much offshore production and/or sourcing.

them boys and lady at ford like their retirement and health care plans,,,buyouts,etc,,,,lots of money they like,,,good shopping and mortgage payments ,,,from ford too them,,,those people have ruined ford....so ya,,you right,but also add miss management and employees to the list,,,of want money from ford too...suck em dry,,,,.cheers civilian
