If you are particularlt worried that you could be pregnant then you could test today. Although you would be more likely to get a clearer result when using your first wee of the morning (it had higher hormone levels), most shop-bought tests are sensitive enough to use at any time of day from when your period is due.

If there is no real reason why you think you might be pregnant, then give it at least a few days as there are many many reasons why a period can be late.

If you have not had your period and are experiencing symptoms you feel are those of pregnancy a home test should show a positive result now. Wait maybe for tomorrow as tests only begin to show positive result if preg really from day of missed period onwards(some can show up to 4 days earlier but % of accuracy goes down). If the symptoms are of pregnancy it means the pregnancy hormone is in your body and therefore should also show up on a test. With some women however this is not always the case so make sure you get a two test pack & if you get a neg but still no period, test again in a few days, week max. If you are preg the hormone increases each day & a test should show it by then. If you STILL get a neg result after that but still have symptoms & no period go to your doc who can carry out a blood test which is much more sensitive at detecting pregnancy.

I would only test now though or follow my advice above if the symptoms you are experiencing you are certain couldnt be PMT. Unfortunately they can be very similar to pregnancy ones. If there is a chance they could be then dont test now incase it is just a late period, they can fluctuate sometimes if ovulation was delayed. Wait at least a week in that instance to begin testing, so you are sure it is not just a 'late' period.

If you think it is def not PMT & you are preg then test tomorrow am. When I was preg I took 3 tests all on day period was due at different times in the day & they all came out positive straight away.

I would wait about a week before taking the test. Stress plays a big roll too, if you believe or think you´re pregnant your period can be late too. That happened to me a couple of times. Take a test when you are a week late and then wait another week and do another one. They are 99 % accurate, and maybe you will feel better if you go to the doc and take a blood test, that would be 100 % sure....

Good luck......

I would wait a few days if I were you. Same thing happened to me, done a test, result was feint, week later came on. Just be patient. I know you are probably excited but its better in the long run so as you are not disappointed. Good Luck.

Hi I am in my 2nd pregnancy 11 weeks - I waited 3 days with both mine and got a nice blue line although prefer the digital tests that actually say PREGNANT - I did suffer a miscarriage in august and my line for that one was very faint although that doesn't necessarily mean its bad but for me it was. I had no symptons with my 1st pregnancy and so far have had none with this one apart from being sooooo tired but then I do have a baby boy 21 months who is great but never sits still. Good luck and I hope you get your blue line.

To avoid disappointment, I would do a test when I was a week overdue for my period.

Good luck!
