No member of Asquith's Government pre-1st WW was supportive of the suffragettes. This included Lloyd-George. The government passed, of course, the notorious Cat and Mouse Act. This is not to say L-G wasn't sympathetic to the idea of female suffrage but the methods of Pankhurst etc alienated most people.
