I am 20 years old, and I am on the 28 day cycle of Yasmin (21 active pills, 7 days of inactive pills), and I am also a smoker. I took my last active pill on 1-27-06, and should have started by today. There is no risk of Pregnancy, and the regular amount of stress for someone my age. I have been having cramps, like I'm on my period, but no period. No signs of regular PMS, except grouchyness. Should I be worried, or is not having a period on Yasmin normal? Also, could be taking a lot of OTC sleep aid medication, like nyquil and tylenol PM cause this? What else could cause this, besides pregnancy, which I am not worried about?
Thoughtful answers that are helpful will be appreciated. I will give points for the best answer, so please actually give me some helpful and thoughtful answers. Thanks in advance!

I was taking orthotrycycolin, also smoking and had the same thing happen. My Dr told me that sometimes you can skip a period and not to worry. Stress also plays a huge role. Physical activity or lack of exercise can effect your periods as well. If you were my friend i'd say call your dr because as helpful as yahoo can be we aren't the authority (smile)

Although you don't think you have more stress than most... you seem to have another health issue (OTC sleeping meds - for insomnia?) which means your body is under more stress than normal. Did you clear taking all those OTC meds with your doctor while taking the Yasmin? I'd give it 48 hours (if there is no chance of you being pregnant). If you are that concerned, I'd call your doctor or pharmacist to see if there could be a relation between the OTC and the pill... good luck.

How long have you been on the pill? If this is your first pack, then maybe your body needs to adjust. If not, then I would call your doctor.
