well think of it this way... people used to talk of the giant monster who would destroy their ships with their huge tentacles and fight whales, and people in the homeland would scoff at these accounts... many, many, many years later the world was shown the first dead giant squid and people noticed they were not crazy or lying... the frilled shark thought to have gone extinct millions of years ago has just shown up again in the sea near Japan, along with some other animals like the half-cayote half-tiger animal, and plants... and let us not forget the half decomposed carcass they found in South America that was exactly the same as the supposedly mythical creature El Chupacabra... so if these creatures and plants took forever to find, whose to say bigfoot isn't real? Maybe he is but just like these other things, he's hiding until time lets things unfold they way we want them to.

No, but.

I don't think that people who do are nuts. There is still a lot of open space in parts of the NW US and Canada. A smart (not human smart, but close) primate could possibly evade detection indefinitely. If it was shy by nature, it would continue to withdraw from civilization. It could dispose of its dead, and it could be nocturnal. All these things would give it a chance.

However, I just thinks the odds are too long. Somewhere, someone would have gotten a good picture or a corpse.

Why is this in philosophy? Do you think elves and pixies exist? Is the moon made of green cheese? Do you have a clue yet?
