Whenever I sit for a meal my deeper mind weep for those who are starving....... how to overcome this?

Did you know there is enough food to feed EVERYONE in the world - cited McDonalds ad (funny enough McD's will only allow a burger to sit under lights for 10 minutes before throwing it out in the trash).

Did you know some people would starve themselves to death rather than kill and eat the cows they bless everyday (India).

Did you know you have more influence over your Government to change the laws in your country than you do over the Ethiopian Government to feed their people.

Did you know that should every person in the world live as comfortably as those in the west the world population would increase by almost 50% every year

Did you ever stop to think that this is the natural way of things for the survival of the rest

Did you ever stop to think that this natural way of things is neccessary for mankind to learn how to overcome this problem in the future

You have to eat to survive, starving yourself would just put you in with the statistics of other starving people. The man in the street is not to blame. It's the politicians who should feel guilty. You starving won't change one thing amongst the millions that are. It's nice to feel compassion as you do but unfortunately there's not much you can do. The west is rich, the east is poor and that's the way it is and has been for centuries

Want to spend Christmas at ours? I cry when the play 'Do They Know It's Christmas Time?' on the radio.
I blame the catholic nuns ;-)

Other than that .. waste not, want not ... Recycle, re-use and share what you can with those who can't afford to have their own ...

yeah pretty much
all those oprah shows have taken their toll on me
it really kills me to see people wasting food
i just try not to waste my food
take only the amount which i will eat
and donate too
