Of course you should wait until everyone is completely sure! There is really no going back and the "snip" should be considered permanent. I'm crossing my fingers that you get a girl this time because you have your hands full! Three babies through me for a loop...and when #4 came, oh geez! Forget about it! It is so so hard to take care of so many little ones!
Good luck...blowing some 'girl dust' your way :)

If you're considering having more then don't do anything until you've had the baby you're expecting. The sex scan is not 100% and if you had a boy but had thought it was going to be a girl you'd probably be mortified that you couldn't try again.
A word to the wise though, if you have the girl be careful, careful, careful afterwards until he's snipped!

hi, i was in the same situation 7 years ago, but my husband and i had decided 3 kids was enough, he had the snip when our youngest was 3 weeks old, we were lucky and our third was a boy, but regardless you have to both agree, it might be helpfull to know that your gp should not refer you untill you are both happy with your decision, waiting for a refferal can take months, if you decide to change your mind you can do this right up to the minute that the op starts, hope this helps

Well if your pregnant at the moment then he won't be needing the snip immediately so you can wait until the baby is born at least and then you can discuss what will happen in the future. There's no need to rush!!

The decision to have more children should be based on your ability to raise them with a quality life, not their gender. If you can afford to have more than 3 children, then I'd hold off on the snip. Otherwise, snip away!

My wife and I both had counselling (compulsory on the NHS) before I had the snip...it really is only you that can decide, your husband obviously is aware of your feelings and would not do anything unless you both agree...personally if you have three healthy children, even if they are all boy's, then I would be very grateful......and enjoy!

I have 3 boys, but after our 3rd my husband had a vascectomy. We were happy with 3, so you have to ask yourself, if it is another boy, how many more will you keep having? I mean, whats to say you wont have 6 boys???? Have as many as you can afford and handle. Don't keep having them just in the hope they are a girl.

i think you should wait till youve had this baby. theres no rush to have a vasectomy. why rush into something you might regret?
