I had a seemingly faulty Ebay bought memory duo stick, which was working fine for weeks but then every time I left the PSP off for a prolonged period of time, I'd have to open the magic gate and jiggle the card to get it recognised. Having swapped my memory card for a friends I found it still wasn't recognised which made me think the PSP magic gate was the issue.

I am writing this because I managed to fix mine simply and couldn't find anyone with the exact same issue on a search engine or forums.. Blow some compressed air (sold in PC World etc) down the magic gate aimed at the contacts with the straw that comes with the cannister. It must have been dirty (though the PSP is only 2 months old and I keep it in a case) because it fixed it.

Any professional Duo is superb, the two Sony or Sandisk seem the only ones that i understand of that cause them to. you will discover that maximum Sandisk professional Duo's now have a stickers on the packaging asserting they're 'PSP nicely matched".
