Round the g-friend's last night, waiting for her to get ready. I was sat lounging in front of the TV and noticed there were two magazines on the coffee table in front of me.

I had a choice between Top Gear magazine (about cars), which would have usually been just my thing; or, there was an Ikea catalogue. After a moments thought I reached for the catalogue and started flipping through the pages, searching for the right living room furniture for my first place.

Is this a sign of shifting life patterns?!

Thanks

Getting a nesting urge? It could indicate a shifting life pattern, but, unless it becomes a constant I wouldn't worry about it. Hey, even if it does... who's to say its bad? Life is made up of changing habits, favorites and hobbies.
Remember: Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.

OH NO,this happened to me about 25years ago,now i have 4 kids and my life has gone from going out on the razz to going to homebase.
So be very careful before you know it you will be sitting in your people carrier waiting for one of your ungrateful kids to finish(delete as nessessary)drum lessons,scouts,football,camp....etc,etc,etc.
Life is changeing, take the girlfriend on a trip somewhere and if you find yourself talking to people with babies, you are stuffed and there is no going back.
If you still have the urge to buy anything with a V8 engine do it now, because once that first kid comes along, there will be no money...ever again.Good luck

It sure is. Welcome to adulthood. But do yourself a favor and don't buy Ikea furniture! It's overpriced, impossible to assemble correctly and doesn't last as long as its price would indicate. Anyway, good luck on your new life. It's going to be a great ride.

Old is when you see a mother and daughter walking together at the mall and you're checking out the mother rather than the daughter.

Nothing wrong with nice things, including furniture.

It was a subliminal message from Ikea they have a sale on.

I think it is. But there could be a couple of other explanations. You might be gay? You are subconsciously looking for furniture? Or you are really that bored.

I don't think so.. it should be a sign of temporary interests combined with needs
