It depends to the univerisity you have chosen. Some universities are "private" so the registration costs are higher than the public ones.
I don't know where you come from, but in Italy the registration costs are lower than in UK or in USA (= and I'm not talking about Yale, Princeton or Harvard... I'm talking about american public universities). The italian private universities have higher fees (than the public ones), around 4000- 6000€ (1 year of studies); the public universities could be around 1000-1500€ (in fact in Italy the registration fees are calculated depending on your incoming).
Then you must add the fees for your appartment, food and whatever you need.
The best way is to chose the university you like and go on its website. You'll find the first information you need. Then you can send an email to the "segreteria studenti" in order to know how much are the fees for the field you have chosen.
Bear in mind: in Italy is better to make a phone call to get information than to send an email. So, if you speak a correct italian, you should call and ask directly to the "segreteria studenti". Be sure to say first that "you call from abroad and you're looking for some information"... some people (at the segreteria studenti desk) are not very kind when students call.

Good luck!
