why don´t you use Eyes like yours(ojos asi), also from Shakira? I personally prefer that song for modern belly dancing better than Hips don´t lie. The only thing is that you might have to modify your steps because the song goes a little bit faster.

Well, Shakira's dancing on Hips Don't Lie isn't strictly bellydancing. It's a mixture of Latin, Hip Hop, and Bellydance. There's more Latin than Bellydance in my opinion. That being said, there are many songs that can be used for a fusion dance style like that. You could use another song by Shakira (like the one mentioned above) or a song by Pentaphobe. You could use Snakecharmer by Bass Nectar and Craddy. You could use Sting's Desert Rose or anything from the Desert Roses and Arabian Rhythms CDs. Since there's a lot of Latin moves in her dance, you could use songs with more Latin rhythms as well.

I'm with the first answerer. Shakira's "Ojos asi" or "Eyes like yours" in English is much better for bellydancing than "Hips don't lie". "Eyes like yours" actually contains arabic music, along with some arabic vocals. You probably won't be able to use the exact same choreography though, but that's to be expected. It's almost impossible to take the choreography from one song and apply to a different one. Good luck!

Look into songs by Arash. I saw an amazing belly dance performance to the "Roxanne Tango" from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. There's a collection of good music on a cd called "Arabesque". Loreena McKennit has some good individual songs that are very good. The thing is, find a piece that suits your style and then dance to it. If your doing fusion, you can choreograph to almost anything.
