I used to work very good and my boss seems to like my work performance but lately i always do mistakes for my carelessness which i think i have already checked again and again but still the mistakes still exist. And this last mistake is very fatal in a project (might cause some loss in the overhead and profit costs) and i am still trying to solve the problem and i am really really feeling very bad about that even until now. Eventhough my boss is not angry with me anymore and helping me to solve the problem, but i feel very guilty about this. Could you suggest what i should do?

Well Pearl everyone makes mistakes. You sound quite anxious which I am sure is not helping.. There is a saying "measure twice, cut once"

So get organized. Plan your week ahead. Do things in little steps. Ask when you don't understand things. Relax and get some confidence back..Check things over at least twice if they are critcal and then do them.

Have a chat with your boss, who seems quite nice and ask if you can receive some more training on areas you are having trouble with. Say you feel very bad about the error and want to make sure that it does not happen again. It could be that you are a little out of your depth with your recent work.

If you have personal worries then try and get them sorted and away from your working life.

Good luck and take good advice.

I had that happened to me years ago. Looking back at it, I've always wished I would have taken some work home. NO NOT ALL THE TIME, but I definetly needed to get a handle on things and the office was too busy and I was dealing with figures. Is there somewhere that's quite you can go to and get your toughts together? Is there someone who's pretty good at what you're doing and can give you some advice? Do you need to get some rest/sleep and take some vitamins? Are you distracted? I want everything to go well for you because I know where you're at.

discuss with your boss and be upfront to him. explain to him that you have checked but no idea why mistakes still exist. suggest for some counter-checking mechanism and move forward.
