No I do not think liberals respect Black Americans.
I wonder if most Black Americans realize the Democrats the always vote for are the exact same people who voted against giving them the right to vote in the first place. These are the same Democrats that Rutherford B Hayes cut a deal with to return the governorship of the Southern States to after the Civil War, basically delaying the civil rights movement by 80 years because the Democrats wouldn't have it. The same Democrats that lynched people in Mississippi, the same Democrats that used fire hoses to prevent voting in the 60s.
Now that i think about it i can see why Black Americans always vote for Democrats, the Democrats have always had their best interests at heart.
The Republicans have done little better, they talk the talk on civil rights, have for over a century but they did little about it. They weren't willing to risk civil unrest to force it on the south, not even in very recent years.
EDIT:
emiliosailez - go check the history books you clearly have not read.
The opposite of what you say is true, every piece of civil rights legislation was backed by the GOP from the Emancipation Proclamation right up to today, it was the Democrats (aka. Dixiecrates) who opposed it.

You are not black and you are asking this question with prejudice as if you republicans have done favors to black or African Americans more than Democrats have.
You are trying to use the sore point of US history, the rights of blacks like token now that you're about to lose. At least, this question of yours tells me so.

Equals yes. But they are also seen as a tool. But to answer the question, it will happen when black people stop listening to so called black leaders like Jesse Jackson.
What other racial group has a leader? Isn't having a leader for a racial group a detriment to the people as a whole?

Something I have pondered over for many years. Funny it was the Democratic party that fought for them to be segregated and held them down for long. But, yet they cling to that party like a life preserver in the open ocean. One good example to them should have been the Clinton administration's low number of Black, Latino and Women members in his cabinet. It's like they have blinders on when anything political occurs.

You can't act like the Democratic party is the only one guilty of this. During Reconstruction it sure wasn't that party offering freed blacks 40 acres and a mule for their vote.

No, I don't. I think they see them as votes, and only use the sympathy crap as fodder. It's impossible that they would view them as equals because a lot of their philosophy comes from the fact that they believe the common man cannot think for themselves and needs government to do it for them.

It's in Black in white, why don't the people unite? because both these parties serve money and not the people. divide and conquer is the rule they live by. and you are going to let it continue in this forum. if you want to send a message to washington unite and kick all of the slavers out of office.

Black Americans must have their own political block and stand but not to be used by the Democrats.

They have been lying to them forever, JFK voted against the civil rights act under a republican president and is touted as a god for signing as president. Obama is being pushed as a BLACK man but is half white. Powell is being called a White man by the Dems and is 100% Black.

The record is crystal clear and it is very easy to see. Legislation that has promoted civil rights is EXCLUSIVELY liberals' doing.
Some Republicans have very reluctantly gone along because it was politically expedient. A Republican African American is an oxymoron.
