As phrased, this question can not be answered. I,for one, would like to the name of any "reliable" source referenced in answering this question. A no hit inning is one that a pitcher does not give up a hit. Records of individual innings pitched do not accurately exist prior to the 1920's according to the Elias Bureau. The question did not ask for consecutive no hit innings - it simply asked for the most no hit innings pitched. If it were consecutive? That answer is easy - Johnny Vander Meer - only man in baseball history to throw back to back no hitters.

In 1959, Harvey Haddix of the Pittsburgh Pirates pitched 12 innings of "no hit" baseball against the Milwaukee Braves but lost the game on an error 1-0.

If you are talking about one game....my guess is Harvey Haddix(Pirates) against the Milwaukee Braves going 12 perfect innings before .....Joe Adcock hit a "3 RUN" homer in the 13th inning and he ended up losing the game 1 to 0.......how did that happen?.....Hank Aaron was involved!!

Johnny Vandermeer, he pitched 2 no hitters back to back, plus any no hit innings before or after those games.

Jeff Bloom of Tufts University threw 28 1/3 inning of no hit ball over 3+ starts in 1986. Hey, you didn't specify MLB, did you?

There have been two pitchers that I know of that have pitched back-to-back no hitters. The first was a rookie with the Cincinnati Reds, but I don't remember his name. The second was Robin Roberts of the Phillies. Keep your money since I don't have the guy's name. I do know he was a kid, maybe a rookie, when it happened.

Good Question...a difficult one to research as well....so, I would have to say Nolan Ryan. With 7 no-hitters and 5,386 innings pitched.

If you mean in a row then that is easier to answer but if you mean the players entire career then that is a different answer. Could you elaborate?
