I feel it is very important to have someone in your life that you can call your best friend. Unfortunately my best friend died a year ago. No one can take his place as a best friend. It has been hard not having that kind of friend to turn to. I spend quite alot of time picking through the friends I have trying to figure out which ones I can trust with certain subjects. Not one of my remaining friends can be trusted with everything like my best friend could. I wouldn't say that life is dull and meaningless, but it sure is alot more complicated and stressful.

Let me say that... if you have 1 best friend whom you are comfortable to share your feeling, you are a lucky person. If you have more than 1, then you should be a happy person.
Life is dull and meaningless without a single true friend. Some couples are best friends, I think that it's such a blessing.
You will find that friends come and leave along your life path. They seldom stay long because things change, such as relocation, study at another places, working away etc.
The definition of best friend is different for everyone. I don't know you, but I can tell you that life is about sharing. Besides family members and your lover, friends are there for you.

I like to think it is! Necessary that is!
I have a best friend of 45 years. We don't see eachother often talk weekly on the phone.
I see her at least once a month. I just love knowing she is there in the back ground. We each have our own (complicated) lives and we know we are always there for eachother.
I wouldn't say life is dull and meaningless without that, but it would make a difference.

NO It is not necessary to have a (best) friend in my life. Life is not dull. Quarrels and repentence is a part of life. Even after we die, the sun and moon will reign in heaven. When the Universe would take about one hour to rotate, how much would be my life span. When God himself is a friend, why do we seek another. If you pray him, he would appear to you in your choicest style.

There should be some one at the time of our depression who will lead us on the right path, and he will none other than a friend because friends are the only people who will know your strengths and weaknesses.

Off course their is no life without love and friendship, this relation is indirect gift given to us by god, we should not miss this chance they can help in some and how every time when you will be in need and you can share lots of things with he/she. which is not share with mom or dad.

It's a blessing, a luxury. Those who have a true best -friend are lucky, those that don't, I feel very sad for.
