I would like to surprise my Mother-In-Law with an unusual present or day out on Mother's Day.

Any ideas welcome.

My mother passed before I really could mothers day for her, so when I got older I did mothers day (and fathers day) for my dad.

One year I re painted his kitchen. one year I planted a ton of flowers in his back yard. One year I had marry maids come in a completly srub the house.

He loved them all.

Good Luck

It's not unusual but nice--- flowers a lot of them one's that smell really nice. You can get them at a more reasonable price at some markets and sometimes at the end of the day they are even less expensive and can be bought a few days before and kept in a deep bucket of cold water : mix with 1 tsp bleach,1tsp vinegar,2tsp sugar and 3 pinches citric acid powder for every litre of water . This solution will keep them fresh longer; choosing a really nice vase to suit your choice of flowers would also be thoughtful. Perhaps if you want something more special you could choose a large leafy pot plant also with a really nice pot for it to go in. Depends on your budget and what you think would be most appreciated

It depends on your budget.
1) a framed photo of your family or you and wife ( or her parents if u have access to pictures)
2) a portrait or print of her home town many years ago before modern changes
3) a weekend away at a pamper type thing such as a health spa or a voucher for a pedicure/ massage etc

hope these help

FAMILY TREE
This genealogy tree has space to trace your family back five generations. Do a little research and fill in the different color leaves for a special gift that reminds mom of her special place in the family tree. This gift will be a great keepsake that can be handed down to coming generations.

Cutting to the heart of the matter: If you can think of anything that she has wanted to do, or a gift she has wanted or not yet recieved, along with sweets, flowers, and a special dinner. All together would make a great packaged gift.

If you can find a restaurant in your area that does one, take her out for High Tea.
