Why is it that its always 'Caucasian' people that are the racist ones and never '*****' people that get called the racists

Such as calling us white people, yes, we are, we're not all the same, and the whole race issue is just getting old now, there will always be racism, I'm not saying that there's gonna be world peace any time soon, it probably will never happen, but to say that we're racists, it works on both sides you know

So yes, you are wrong, and instead of focusing it all on race, how about taking gender into consideration, I would love to hear what u have to say about that...

Just to confirm...Yes you are wrong thanks

You ARE wrong. However, whether or not the first Black President is going to be Obama is another story.

His appeal is that he is a pretty clean slate. Nothing major in his past for the GOP to point at, but on the other hand, no one knows what he really stands for either. And he certainly has no particular experience, right now.

However, he could be an effective Vice-Presidential candidate and IF the Democrats capture the presidency this go-around. He'd be set up for a great shot at President later on with that experience under his belt.

I agree. What would be interesting to see is just how much of the democratic party vote he would actually carry. I mean the dems stick together very well nowadays , but I believe this would shake their tree pretty hard and the real prejudices would show. If you watch the true trends in race battles in this country they are for the majority up north where the dems have their greatest strengths. I don't think that most of the "good ole white boys" could bring themselves to vote for him.

Oh, and just to show that there are prejudices on the other side...are you aware that a white politician tried to join the Black Caucus and was turned down because of his race.

It seems unlikely that we have matured enough as a people to accept a black president or a woman for that matter, or a Mormon as it appears at the moment. The APE (American Puritan Ethic) is still with us and does not allow for a non Anglo-Saxon to be seriously considered. We are still very WASPy.
But the very fact that Mr. Obama's charisma, intelligence and political accumen have been recognized and respected by enough people to seriously consider him is a vast improvement over what we have had in the past.

OBAMA??? Why he is as much a white man as he is Black.... Why do demon crats ask this question about Barrack and forget Powell or Rice? I as a White woman would be glad to vote for a Powell and Rice ticket it is the Democrats that are too racist to vote for a 100% Black Ticket.

No. I would vote for a Black Republican in a heart beat. Did you know that 4 Black Republicans were trying to get elected in the House and Senate in the 2006 election. And if they would have got elected it would have been the most amount of Black elected officials in the House and the Senate. I have a question. Where was the media on this. they had the women thing (most women elected to senate) down but ignored the Black republican thing.

Damn, you have a hostile agenda! You just don't get it...Obama is too far to the left for many Americans. Who cares about his skin color? I vote based on issues and ideas and well, Obama's are not the same as mine.

I'd be glad to vote for Condolezza Rice (who by the way is 100% Black) based on issues, leadership, and her strong knowledge of foreign policy. But so far, she is not in the running.

Yes, there are racist whites, but there are also racists blacks as well. Tell me, why are members of the Black Caucus (which is racist in itself) labeling Rice and Powell as "Uncle Toms?"

How are we ever supposed to break down racial barriers if we keep attaching labels and having attitudes like yours?

no, you're not, but the same is true for a woman president, the US is not India, or Germany, they'll never accept Obama, or Hilary. What they will get is another hillbilly from Texas.
