Hello I am playing pokemon firered at the moment. And a friend told me that Using rare candys will give Your pokemon less stat points when they lvl up. I was just wondering if that is also the cass if you use Exp Share. Or Trade your pokemon to a other game and lvl them up using the Exp boost. Thanks.

Your friend was right. Leveling using Rare Candies will give you slightly lower stats than leveling normally. However, if you use the Rare Candy trick, you can get your Pokemon to level 99+ and not have to worry about most trainers, who don't have pokemon anywhere near as strong anyway.

Trading Pokemon to get the Exp Boost and using Exp Share are probably the best ways to go to develop your pokemon. They don't knock down any stat points when you level up. All they do is add to the Experience your pokemon receive.

You get "Added stats" everytime you kill an enemy. When you kill enough and level up, you can see the difference.

Rare Candies allow you to level up - but you won't have killed any enemies...so you won't get the added stats.

There IS a LIMIT to added stats however. Once your pokemon has had enough fights it won't get more added stats and you can use as many rare candies as you want.

On Pokemon Emerald, you could receive a "medal" which would indicate that your pokemon is maxxed out for added stats
(at which point, giving rare candies would be perfectly ok)
