There's not much the actors can work with if the script doesn't capture the characters.
The movies were okay at best, because they really didn't do much to bring out the team chemistry like in the comics... they emphasized certain characters at the expense of others, and it was more action than character oriented anyway. Scott is team leader and his role diminished with every movie, and there really was no reason to have Storm in them at all.
Hugh did okay, but again, the script really didn't give anyone a chance to really shine as a character. Also, just like anytime they try and do an animated series, and even in this movie series... you can't do a realistic Wolvie like he is in the comics unless you are doing R rated stuff. He's a berserker and a killer- the "I'm the best at what I do, and what I do ain't pretty". That's his nature, and if you don't show his aggression and violence, you don't capture that darker side of the character.

What do you consider a serious fan? (I've been collecting over 20 yrs) The stuff they're putting out now does not compare to early claremont, cockrun, and byrne work. But I think Jackman did a great job despite the screenplays hes been given, but i always saw Robert DeNiro in the role(look at the cape fear remake).

Hugh Jackman was Okay, The best Wolverine wouldn't be famous. Wolverine is famous so they should have get someone famous.shorter or more athletic?? YES.
Wolverine does so much more than just punch with his claws. I wish it showed his fighting ability and athleticism more like on spider-man it did justice to his swinging and gymnastic like skills.
height is second. Wolverine looks like an underdog (and Favorite) at every fight.

Yes. Jackman was feral and dangerous enough to portray this character. His body fit as well. He also had a kindness and humanity that the comic book conveys but is easier to recognize when seeing it in live action.

well i say he has the personality. He has that dark personality and he's handsome more than the average wolverine. But Russel Crowe is also a good choice didn't think about it at first.
