The last thing you said is probably the most important- you know it's not healthy. How is it not healthy?
Now the second question- It seems like you feel you need a boy in your life to be happy. Why is that important to you? It seems like you think your only options are to be on/off with your ex or to go find another boy. This in not the case- the other option is to not have a boyfriend relationship with anyone at all. You probably won't agree with this- but develop friendships with girls and just be friends with guys without any of the romantic stuff involved. Develop who you are as a person more outside of any relationships and see what you find.
The last part- which you're not going to like is- why are guys who are pricks attracted to you? That's a very tough question- but it's probably true. The bait we put out is the fish we catch. What kind of bait are you putting out that you catch pricks? I don't have an answer to that. There are a lot of guys who aren't pricks, but you have to wait for them and be very choosy. It takes time to find a nice guy- but if that's what you really want- you will have to be single for a while, wait, be choosy, wait, and eventually you'll find the guy that was worth waiting for- ask my wife she'll tell you that everything I'm saying is true. Tough- but true.
