is it possible for me to find out how much the previous owners of my house paid for it.? on-line would be best. thanks....i`m not being nosey, i`ve got my reasons

All you do is put in an address, they ask you to copy the numbers you see (to ensure you're a person, not a computer asking) and you can nose as much as you like!

Yes. The transaction will have been recorded and is part of the sales history of the property. Check the county/city website for the records....

Free and easy - just put the postcode in or address and it gives you the house price, type of house, freehold or leasehold, new build or old and date sold. For a specific property or all homes in a particular street or area.

Usually you can get on to the county tax collectors website and find this information. It takes some digging, but you will eventually find it.

The Land Registry offers this service which you can access direct. There are various web sites offering this service as well. I have a note of - http://www.nethouseprices.com/ or http://www.myhouseprice.com/ - but I have not tested them recently and there is likely to be better.
