Why don't asian women who date inter-racially date more non-white guys?

G'day, I'm from Melbourne, Australia.
I'm a 27yo male of indian origin and I admit that I have a preference for asian girls. I do not consider myself as having a sexual fetish but rather I am attracted to them for good reasons.
I have worked in healthcare in Melbourne's western suburbs which have a large Vietnamese and Filipino population. I have met several female colleagues of my age group from these backgrounds and I have a generally good working relationship with them; I also find many of these women friendly, down to earth and family oriented. I have tried to ask out a couple of the girls but they seem reluctant.
It seems that asian girls who date outside their own ethnic group or other asian groups date white caucasian men only. Are they just influenced by the predominant social trend?
Specifically, I'm surprised there is not more interracial dating between asians and indians given that both groups generally have a similar socio-economic status and values.
Any views?

that's not true. i know a lot of Asian women who are married to white men.

my 2 cousins and 5 of my high school friends are married to white men.

it just depend on someone preference.

I think natural Black women are much, MUUUCH more beautiful than the unnatural, weave wearing ones. Like, there is no comparison. And I have to agree that a lot of the natural looking Black women are the ones that I see with White men. But I always chalked that up to the fact that PERHAPS when a White man dates a Black woman, that he wants the real, authentic thing, and also not one of the hood acting Black females, either. But I'm sure that this doesn't apply to everyone. I'm a Persian woman with a Black, long-term boyfriend... and yes, he is from the hood and dresses as such, however, I am not sleazy and DEFINITELY not a club girl, I think club girls are gross. Most of the IR relationships I see are the Black man / Hispanic girl combo or Black man / White girl combo, and sometimes the girl does look sleazy or wiggerish, but not always. I can't stand it when a non-Black girl gets with a Black man and she acts like a wigger. It's gross. I definitely don't fit that bill... just because I'm with a Black man from the hood does NOT mean I don't fully embrace my Persian roots. I think you're wrong about Black men not wanting a serious relationship. I'm definitely in a serious relationship with a Black man. I think that most Black men don't take hoodrats seriously, and I think the sad reality is that some of the Black females that are available to them are hoodrats... and when they aren't hoodrats, well, you said it yourself, maybe they are with White men or other kinds of men. But, whether the two us us realize it or not, the majority of Black men are with Black women, and vice versa. Perhaps not the natural looking ones, though. Statistically, Black men marry Black women more than any other race.

Hello, I am a white Spanish/Mexican who lives in the western suburbs of Sydney Australia. I have my own theory as to why so many asian women chase white men. I do not believe that it is all about socioeconomic status. I say this because I know whitemen who are blue collar workers who are married to Asian women who have professions. In a few cases I even know white dudes who have asian wives that earn more than they do. So no it's not about the money. Money may only have something to do with it when the Asian women in question gets brought from her country of origin and is illiterate in the english language. In that case mabye it is for economic reasons. However, the vast majority of Asian Women/White Male couples I see are basically both native to Australia. The asian women in question for the most part are born here and have no need for residency as they are already citizens. 2) Someone said that it may be due to media influence. I believe that is absurd as well. Forgive me if I'm wrong but if I watch television for 2 hours I see literally dozens of commercials that portray white males as dumb, weak, immoral, and many other negatives. I watch MTV and on video after video you can see anywhere between 5 to 10 white females dancing with 5 to 10 black males. My point in saying that is only to refute this so called media whitewashing that many people refer to when addressing this topic. I think what it boils down to is this. European culture has only very recently (last 40 years or so) become liberal. I believe that the current asian culture is very similar to that of Euro culture from a few generations ago. White males who are looking for a more traditional relationship can sometimes have a hard time finding it with white westernized women. Therefore these white men are enticed by asian women who have a culture that is in many ways very similar to the way white European culture was just a few generations ago. This coupled by the fact that asians do have attractive features makes it quite a common connection. At the end of the day I can tell you that these unions lead to productve families the vast majority of the time. The Eurasian children from these unions are usually well mannered, polite, interested in school, and make make productive citizens. I think the reason why so many people look for something negative to say such as "she did it for the money" or"she wants citizenship" in regards to these unions is because nobody wants to compliment the white man of European descent. (I probably just went where most posters wouldn't go) Nobody wants to say hey you know what? White men do have certain qualities that are good. So in absence of saying what I have just said they say ah...."She just did it for the money."
By the way, I am not married to a asian women.

You don't see a lot of them, but in the Philippines, there are a lot of Filipinos with Indian ancestry...

I've also asked a similar question here in Yahoo! Answers, and i found out that Asian singles follow their conservative parents' advice on partner-preference, which is to marry within their on race. Parents give these advice for some reasons, such as xenophobia, racial bias, etc.

Take me as an example. i've been dying to befriend a caucasian female. i asked my aunt in the US to find me a friend. she told me reasons which, well, are quite valid (i will not post publicly). and in the end telling me to marry a filipina. (i'm a filipino expat, still single, unfortunately...)

But i have to admit, asian women ARE family oriented and make good housewives/working moms.

g'day to you too my aussie friend! my wife is vietnamese so i won't claim to be the pudgy, white know-it-all but here's what my wife told me. people with dark skin in vietnam are looked down on as an inferior class. not because of race but because if you are dark skinned it means that you are a farmer (peasant). vietnamese women from wealthier homes do not work in the fields and avoid exposing their skin to the sun. my wife looks like a freaking bee-keeper when she leaves the house.
it's not a racial thing but more of a class thing.
if you're wanting to meet vietnamese women, take a vacation to vung tau, vietnam and stop in at tommy's bar. it's run by aussies and they can introduce you to some good vietnamese families. if you go, tell "belly" i said hi.

by the way, i mention vung tau because it is a small resort city. the people there have constant contact with foreigners both dark and light. they tend to be more progressive in their views. then again, maybe fat white yank defines sex appeal in asia! lol

Its all about improving not decreasing their socio-economic status in society. They will marry 'above' them. A white person.But not a darker skinned asian. You must know asian poeple are extremely class conscious and prejudiced. No matter how many years they have been living outside asia, they never try to overcome prejudices within themselves. They carry it where they go.

Unfortunately, they get away with it most of the time. People believe asian women are docile, submissive and sweet. They might be. But in my experience, they are not as straightforward or honest as white women. They do improve their status by marrying white men. If I were you, I'd stop asking them out.

The Asian women who go after white men are from the lower class in their countries of origin. They are opportunists who go after white men which they perceive as higher class. Their goal is to trap a white man in order to elevate their own socioeconomic status which they can't or won't do on their own. In other words, they use men. And they are expert at it because the men they trap never look beyond the exotic Asian looks or their sweet, submissive disposition and sexual expertise. So my suggestion is look for an educated, successful Asian (or other) woman who doesn't need a man to elevate herself.
