Wow lot of information about feeding the baby you put in your question...:) I gave my baby when she was four months old around 4-5 oz of formula every two or three hours and she weight 16 pounds and four oz... and i use ENFAMIL Lipil with iron first six months for her formula and after that i start to use Good Start... they're very good formula for the baby.. Good luck

lecky is absolutely right.the amounts on the can are just a guide. It is probably coincidence that he drinks the lot when you put in a smaller amount LOL I always threw away the leftovers.it is not hygenic to keep it and reoffer it later in the day. Mind you if you have only given him say 30 mls,put it backin the fridge and reoffer it in about half an hour to an hour is fine, but otherwise chuck it.If your baby is putting on weight regularly and the clinic nurse and/or doctor is happy,he s getting the right amount.
a tip is to make up hthe daily amount in a jug in the fridge and poor into bottles as you need it.At the end of the day if there is less than half a jug left then you know he is not getting enough.I would make up 900ml in the morning, that is 180ml times 5 feeds if he is feeding through the night. he might have four feeds of 220ml and still get enough. or 6 feeds of 150.see where i am going here?It really doesn't matter when he drinks what if he is getting most of that jug in 24 hours.he'll let you know when he is hungry and don't worry too much if there are days when he doesn't drink the whole jug or demands more.you can email me if you want to ask me anything.

The theory is that most babies should have doubled their birthweight by time they are 6 months old, I would say he is probably on the right track for those statitstics.
If he is a happy baby and content with the amount of milk you are giving him, then I really wouldn't worry. If he finishes a 6oz bottle, carry on giving it to him, he will soon tell you if he is hungry.
And try not to rely too heavily on guidelines on formula tins, they are there as just that, a guideline. Which might be applicable to a lot of people but not everyone. I am sure you have friends who tell you that their baby drinks more/less than they are 'supposed' to. Your baby is just developing his own little pattern, follow his lead and you can't really go wrong.

each and every infant is distinctive. All my sons had gentle quantities of cereal of their bottles as quickly as I felt they have been continuously hungry. If the infant is happy dont exchange it now. the quantity of formula on your baby sounds splendid. In a month he will probable be hungry lower back for greater. some Dr.'s will completely advise against any infant foodstuff that youthful - some wont. while you're very frightened ask your pediatrician. What ever you do do no longer introduce different infant meals until eventually they're approximately 4 months previous. do no longer provide any infant foodstuff meats to them - no longer sturdy for digestive gadget. circulate inclusive of your intestine. only somewhat of cereal could help them to sleep greater advantageous, yet try it first in the process the day so which you are going to discover if there is any differnce. endure in innovations use a tiny volume and use only somewhat greater hollow in the nipple. be careful to no longer permit to lots out of that nipple or he would be gulping and then throw up alot.
