If the British took over the country would have never be called Philippines in the first place, because the country was name after king Philip of Spain. I believe the country would have been in far better shape than now. Look at all the countries the British colonized India, Malaysia, Kenya, Egypt, China, UAE, these countries are much developed and economy is strong than other colonized country.

After world war II the British never left behind countries in such poor conditions and used up all its resources such as the Spanish, French. Dutch and Portuguese. When the British were leaving they made sure that they administrated the countries in Education, Economy, Government, Infrastructure, Health, so that the people of these countries could manage there countries in long run. Unlike other colony powers they striped the lands of there resource and left them to rot.

Philippines would have been a divided country Christian and Muslims living peacefully and some ethnic religion would have remand. The Spanish were famous for ethnic cleansing wiping out people who did not accept Catholicism Such as South America and Central America.

Gnatious have you really opened a book on Islam before broadly generalize on the religion on what you see on western media. People like you make me wonder if really have agenda going, or you that unintelligent for real. We can go on for hours or forever on what people do on the name of their religion, Don’t let me start on westerns on what horrific things they did through out history.

Hi..its me again..Remember that Christianity does not limit to Catholisism..Most British are Protestant and of other christian denomination...

If ever the British won againsts the Spanish..British protestant missionaries will have easy access to the Phils..

Remember that on the present day, even though the Phil is being dominated by Catholics, there are millions of other Christians here that are growing in numbers yearly..all of them went here on mission(send by their religous leaders not by their government)

If you read history..Before the Spanish came, parts of Mindanao and Manila are the only Muslim dominated areas. Visayas, and Luzon inhabitants have their own religion based on their ethnic beliefs.

I dont know why you always insist that if the Phil is not a Catholic country, then it will be a terrorist Muslim country..Discriminating and illogical..

I hope you are not a Christian..you are a shame on our religion and belief..

I believe Philippines would still be Christian nation, because they love God. The people are against islam, because of all its abuses of human rights and the way it treats women so poorly.
