Filipino's don't trust each other. Its more like, "You can't bullshit a bullshitter" Corruption is passdown to every economic social class. Poor kids are learning how to be hustlers at an early age. Poor families don't understand the ABC's of life. Many want to get a piece of the foriengner's money. Misery loves company. More Filipino men need to step up and become positive role models and stop sending filipino daughters out into the world to be abused and exploited. Waiting for money to be sent back to Philippines so people can eat is not progress at all. Relatives not doing anything to help themselves is very destructive because it pass down to the next generation.

The Philippines has a lot of problems but I believe a lot of them (poverty, unemployment, pollution, traffic, inadequate housing) stem from unchecked poulation growth. The Philippines is severly overpopulated especially in metropolitan areas. I believe that the government needs to turn away from the influence of the catholic church and start population control policies that adhere to the best interest of the future of the RP rather than a 2000 year old mythology.

Philippines might be overpopulated but they sure do turn out some fine looking people. Maybe if the rest of the world would make their doors a little more open for the Filipino they might be able to bring some of their positive attributes with them. I work in construction and I'm constantly surrounded by Mexicans, none of which speak any english. I find them (Mexicans) to be arrogant and beligerant towards Americans. I wish there was a way to replace those Mexicans with Filipinos. I think they would be more appreciative of the opportunity and I KNOW they'd do good work.

CORRUPTION
POVERTY
OVER POPULATION

If you could get rid of Corruption a lot of the other problems would take care of themselves.
Can you imagine the Billions of Pesos that would then be available for housing, education, health and all the other social woes. I don't think that this figure is over exaggerated-just look at all the money the Marcos's and their cronies got away with while in power.

Corruption, because of this, all the other problems are borne - poverty, insufficient budget for education, housing, health, unemployment, etc.
