It depends where in Egypt you are travelling to. Antimalarial tablets are not normally recommended for tourist areas and other parts of Egypt. There is a small risk of serious malaria in the El Faiyum area (50 miles south of Cairo on west bank of the Nile) from June till October. But you should take precautions so avoid mosquito bites by covering up with clothing such as long sleeves and long trousers especially after sunset, using insect repellents on exposed skin and, when necessary, sleeping under a mosquito net.

there is no malaria in Egypt so you won't need the tablets the only thing you can have is the traveler's diarrhea because your normal intestinal flora is not used to the water here in Egypt so this problem is solved by drinking bottled water and that is all you need.
